WEBINAR: How to Build a Thriving Food Economy in Alameda County
On October 15th at 3:00 PM PDT, DSAL and ASCO will host a webinar featuring the author of the Alameda County Circular Food Economy, Maryruth Belsey Priebe and other guests who will discuss how access to job opportunities and healthy food are critical elements of addressing issues of poverty such as food insecurity and income inequality.

DSAL Recreation: Virtual PE
Available to students from Castro Valley Unified School District, San Lorenzo Unified School District, and Hayward Unified School District. Classes include soccer, dance, boxing, and fitness for elementary, middle school, and high school students.
Paid Meal Vendor Opportunities
We are looking for small business food vendors partners, to help produce prepared meals for home-bound seniors, vulnerable patients, and families experiencing food insecurity as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Each selected vendor will receive $15,000 to cover costs associated with preparing meals. Get details and apply through this link.

If you're interested in Farming (weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting) or helping out at our Food Hub (loading and unloading food, bagging food, and distributing bags of food during our drive through food giveaways), please click here to complete the brief onboarding form. We are using our Food Recovery systems to continue to provide food to those in need. If you, or your organization are in need of food, sign up so we can notify you when/if we have food available for delivery or pickup.
Eden Eats at Home!
The CVEA Chamber and DSAL have partnered together so the community can connect with local businesses in a whole new way! Here’s how it works. First you will need to join "Eden Eats At Home" on Facebook, and then order your ingredient kit online. After you pick up your ingredient kit and head home, follow along with our live stream to prepare your meal, while interacting in real time with the chef and owner. Get to know local businesses, while trying out new flavors with your family!
